Boots!

I am a last minute packer, usually the night before take-off. I realize that's not going to cut it for a 10 week trip where I'll be carrying everything on my back.

I started looking for footwear in September, 6 months before blast-off. I ordered a pair of Lowa Renegades in size 9. The boots arrived while I was on a fire in Salmon, ID. By the time I got back from the fire, a month had passed since they arrived. I opened the box and found a pair of size 8s, way too tight. I sent them back to Alltrec and had to wait for my refund. In January, I ordered a pair of size 9 Lowa Tempests. Again, too small.

In the mean time, I developed a mean case of plantar fasciitis and went to the Doc. He told me to get high boots. Ordered a pair of size 9 Lowa Renegades, in red. They fit. My feet feel great!
